St Giles’ is a church that inspires deep affection.  I have known it for nearly half a century, and was pleased as a Cambridge student and young lecturer to be welcomed into its choir.

 

Its near-millennium of history is reflected in the treasures of art and architecture which it displays, but its present plans show that this is no mere museum of church history.  I commend this project as a brave symbol of commitment to the wider community, the symbol of everything a parish church should be.
